Note: Erm, yeah, it's all dark... & depressing... so yeah.
Innocent eyes
Do you remember,
When you were 7,
And all you wanted to do was show your mum you could play the piano
Ethel always wanted to show mum she could play the piano, Mona still couldn’t quite figure out why, but now she feels the need to prove her piano playing abilities to mother herself.
Ten years have passed,
And one thing that lasts,
Is that same old song that we played along and made my mama cry.
Mama always cried at that song, out of pure rage. She was furious that we kept singing or defiance.
I miss those days
and I miss those ways
Mona sure did miss the normal days, before they got entangled with Voldemort, she wanted to go back, back to before all this and she would be two and Ethel would be seven and Ethel would pick on her and her parents would take Ethel’s side and she would throw a tantrum (she was a very feisty two-year-old).
When I get lost in fantasies,
In a land of cartoon mysteries
I a place you won’t grow old in a place you won’t feel cold
And I’ll sing
She had always been commended on her singing abilities, it was one of the two things she could do better than Ethel. She also liked to sing.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Seems I’m lost in my reflection,
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Find a star in my direction
She had to find something to get her out of this situation, something to get both her and Ethel out of this situation.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
For the little girl inside,
Who won’t, just hide
Don’t let me see the mistakes and lies
All the things that had been told to her. All those “Pure-blood supremacy” and “Pro-Muggle and Muggleborn Genocide” lies
Let me keep my faith and innocent eyes
My innocent eyes
Let me be able to live with myself, let me be able to get up in the morning not feeling like a traitor.
Do you remember,
When you were 15,
And all the kids at school though you were a fool
‘cause,
you took the chance to dream,
In the time that’s the past now and the one thing that lasts,
Is that same old song we used to play,
that made my daddy cry,
He, like his wife, cried from pure rage at their song.
I miss those ways and I miss those days,
When I got lost in fantasies.
In a cartoon land of mysteries,
In a place you won’t grow old in a place you won’t feel cold,
And I’ll sing.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da,
Seems I’m lost in my reflection,
There was no way out of this... Wait, yes there was.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da,
Find a star in my direction
This was very drastic, but there wasn’t anything else she could do, death would be the only place were Mona was safe.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da,
For the little girl inside
who just, won’t hide,
Mona hastily scribbled a short note
Dear Hettie, Chrissie, Ethel and everyone else,
Sorry.
Love,
Mona.
Da da da da da da da da da da da da
Don’t let me see mistakes and lies
She slipped her legs on the railing. She looked down. A fall from this hight would kill her. Exactly the desired affect.
Let me keep my faith and innocent eyes.
She jumped. She was free.
My innocent eyes.
